Where Do I Begin?

Bonnie posted this picture from 1969, the first year she was
away from home on Christmas.

I had to repost the pic because there is just too much going
on in it not to address it!

My outfit - That matching skirt and vest had red piping - hot!
I can still feel the fabric of that dotted scarf (loved polka dots
even back then) - silky and THAT FRINGE. Seriously though,
my hair was awesome that year! (before I grew out my bangs)

Sue - who found that jumper and forced her to wear it? It was
cute, but skirts were not her fav - at least she got to wear her
knee highs (she had quite a collection)! (good hair too, it looked
so light brown here)

Steve - a sport coat? Really? Must have had to wear it to Christmas Eve service at church. (at least he's smiling)

Mom - that skirt was made from someone's cast off quilted bedspread that Phyllis had (note how the flared hem has a ribbon matching the ribbon around her neckline!)

Dad is looking pretty normal and studly here (only 41 years old - Mom is 39 here).

How about that artwork in the background? I think it came with our trailer house. And was
that tree already dead? Mom had a fondness for the long-needled variety. You can't see it in this shot, but there is a horrible hanging lamp behind us, and putrid gold carpeting beneath our feet!

Another Crazy Photo Shoot

You know, I'm kinda crazy.
I'm kinda obsessed with photo shoots
with these babies. I do think I might
be cured, though, since this last shoot
was NOT easy. However, when I
look at these photos, they are not
perfect, but they are beautiful! We
have captured their hearts! This was
the BEST shot we got, even though
they are not all looking at the camera,
can't you see their hearts?

Aunt Sue arrived mid-shoot and
they were totally distracted.
(We thought putting them all in
the crib was a great idea?)

I don't want to cooperate, Omi!

Nigh' night Max!

Jumpin' on the bed...

with permission!

Love, love, love - and goofing around!
(See, their hearts again!)

One of the Funny Things They Find to Do...

Claire wanted to put on her fancy shoes
and Brody always wants to help. They
were VERY determined.

He was trying to figure out the best way
to proceed.

He was holding her foot and it was so cute.

I think we have it!
They are so cute together.
They love each other so much.
They take good care of each other, um,
except when they are fighting!

Farm Day

Aunt Sue teaches Claire and Brody
how to peel their own Cuties oranges...

...genius!

Max was playing with my laptop for a
LONG time, and opened about 30
programs (who knows how they figure
out how to hit buttons that make something
happen) before the laptop fell on the floor
AND unplugged - all I heard was his new
saying "Oh NO!" He was totally forlorn
that his fun had ended. (I did know he
was playing with it.)

Ice Cream Treats

We splurged on Schwan's ice cream and
made cones for an afternoon treat.
Mmmmmm

Brody got sprinkles, and took his usual
slow sweet time eating his cone!

Claire got sprinkles as well, all over
her face!! She's styling today in
Converse, flower tights, pink skirt
and top. This little girl loves to dress up!

Projects

Once a month we spend the morning at
the Park's house. Our project for the
day was putting window decals on
their windows. Colors and sports balls.
Everyone had a fun time choosing
their color and ball to apply.

We had a pot project that lasted a couple
of weeks. First we had to paint terra cotta
onto plastic pots. It really worked - they
looked like real terra cotta!

The next step was decorating the
terra cotta pots. They both chose
to paint the entire pot. One dark pink,
one white and one bright green.

They wear smocks for these messy
projects. They are old pillowcases
with head and arm holes cut out.
They get pretty excited when they
know it is smock time - that means
they get to make a mess! After many
days of painting, Claire was quite
adept with the brush - it was pretty
fun to see that progress. Brody really
was only interested in painting for a
minute or two at a time. 9 months
difference in age is sometimes quite
a lot.

Neither one of them felt the greatest
on this day (note the hand holding the
cheek), and were actually ready
for a little morning nap (which is quite
unusual). Their project was the
matching game. They are awesome at it.

My babies

We gave the kids matching jammies for Christmas,
and have been meaning to do a photo shoot, but
different illnesses have gotten in the way. This was
my attempt by myself. They sure weren't getting
my enthusiasm for the project! Brody was on the
last worst day of his cold, and pretty sad and out-of-it!
We'll try for better ones soon. The good news is that
the jammies are so big for them, they won't outgrow
them anytime soon! And they are WARM and COZY!

On another note, my Omi Annie Blog is having a giveaway!
I see lots of others blogs that I am following have
giveaways (yeah, I realize they have sponsors and stuff),
and I thought it would be a fun thing, plus I like giving
things away! Submit your answer to my email address,
if you don't have it, message me and I'll send it to you.

The query is this: I have had a long and busy week and
have not hung up one thing I've worn all week, it is all
lying on my bathroom floor. It is a sea of colors, but
mainly three. Guess what three colors I wear mostly!
I promise you, the giveaway is REAL NICE. Good luck!
