The Docken Zoo

Here we are at The Docken Zoo.  Papa and I have been trying to get to the Minnesota Zoo with the kids for a month.  The weather just does not cooperate with us!!  SO many sub-zero temps this winter!!  We thought we had it all figured out for today, temps were forecast for 28, so we planned it all out.  Got the strollers ready, warm clothes ready, picnic lunch packed.  Then the forecast last night told us not to look at the temperature for today, but the wind chill factor and it looks like 10 below 0 AGAIN!  So, we regrouped and decided to take them to Burnsville Mall to run/walk around and have an adventure.  Then this morning when we all gathered at the farm, one had diarrhea and an accident, one had a runny nose, sore throat, cough, one was super tired and crabby.  So, we regrouped again - and had a picnic on the dining room floor, then started watching movies in the warm living room while the baby naps.  Lunch will be a picnic, too.  Much needed naps will follow.  Maybe there will be time for a little fun-time after that.  Oh well, we try to go with the flow.  The kids weren't too disappointed, so we are grateful for that.  Better luck next week!!

Chillin' in January 2014

Claire and Mara wore matching shirts and wanted to capture it in pictures.
Reading together under the covers (always under the covers).  "Look & find" books are favs.
Snow play - finally!  Found a day warm enough to go outside at daycare.  They had FUN!!!
Brody was mowing lawn - wow, optimistic!  Snow angels were made as well.

Everyone was dressed warmly and got very snowy and wet.  Neighbor Kaija plays with us.
